But the legacy he left us is huge, it is bigger than life! Until today no one could reach what he has achieved.
even more than 40 years after his death his albums still reach # 1 in the charts.
Elvis Aron Presley was born on January 8, 1935 in a small town called Tupelo Mississippi. Elvis was always fascinated by black gospel music. In 1954, he changed the world of music forever when he entered Sun Studios in Memphis and recorded his first song: That's All Right. This moment was recognized as the birth of rock n roll. Elvis combined black gospel with white country music, that's how rock n roll came to be. In addition to gospel and country, the blues also had a big impact on the king. In 1955, Elvis moved from SUN label to RCA Records and worked from now with his new manager Colonel Tom Parker together, so began the rise of the first pop star in history.
On March 24, 1958 Presley goes to the army and sails to Germany, where he was stationed for 17 months and also met his future wife Priscilla. In the 60s Elvis made many films and released several records. In 1968 he celebrated his legendary stage comeback. The NBC 68 Comeback Special.
From 1969 on he gave many concerts at the International Hotel in Las Vegas. Between 1970 and 1977 the depending on tablets and healthy severely battered Elvis toured throughout the whole United States and gave over 1'090 concerts in more than 130 cities.
Also legendary were his 2 sold-out concerts in 1972 at Madison Square Garden in New York City. But on January 14, 1973, he gave superlative concert in Hawaii. For the first time the concert of a soloist was broadcasted live in several countries. The concert Aloha from Hawaii had more spectators than the moon landing, so every third person in the world has seen this concert live on TV.
On August 16, 1977, 42-year-old Elvis Presley died of heart failure in his villa Graceland in Memphis.
The famous journalist Davis Marsh once said:
"If one does not understand that above all, Elvis was a spiritual leader of our generation, you can not measure his importance, never mind the significance of the music he created."
Elvis change the music, he change the history, the way we thinking, the way we are looking, the way we feeling and the way we living. He has opened many doors. He`s the greatest idol of all time.
